How long does it take to get the certificates?

Seal Calibration pride themselves in high levels of customer service. Our aim is to get your full CQC compliant certificate package in a format that suits the customer back to you within 48 hours of our appointment. If you need your certificates quicker, just ask and we will get them to you the same day!

I have a piece of equipment that isn’t working correctly what should I do?

We have over 10 years’ experience in providing free unlimited technical support. Call us without hesitation, we will help you over the phone if possible and alternatively get an engineer to call in and fix the problem or have the item shipped back to us the same day for assessment / repair. Turn around is often only 3 days so you don’t have to be without your equipment for weeks.

What areas do you cover?

Seal Calibration are based in the midlands but have engineers located all over the UK and so cover practices from the very top to the bottom of the country. Where ever you are Seal Calibration can offer you a local convenient service not just on your appointment date but also support you through the year.

Why do I need my equipment calibrating?

CQC Outcome 11: Safety, availability and suitability of equipment. Each practice has a responsibility to its staff and patient to ensure that the equipment being used to screen and diagnose patients is maintained to the highest possible standards, so it is a CQC requirement that your medical equipment is tested annually.

We are a busy surgery so how will you get it all done in a day?

With years of experience Seal Calibration understands that surgeries are extremely busy environments. Ask us about early starts, late finishes and even weekends. We are the most flexible company in the market and will do all we can to accommodate you.

Do you offer loan equipment whilst ours is being repaired?

If your equipment item is going to take time to fix, needs a rare part and is going to take time to fix we have load equipment available to ensure there is no interruption to your services.

How many items can we have tested?

What is Medical Device Equipment Calibration?

The calibration is ensuring that the device is fully functioning and accurate at the point of delivery to a patient within the manufacturer’s parameters. It is vital that the calibrations are traceable to a national standard such as UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service). Typically Seal Calibration conducts annual calibrations in healthcare settings such as Health Centres, GP Surgeries and Pharmacies with consultation rooms.

Why is calibration important in GP Surgeries?

Essentially the health of all patients depends on the accuracy of your medical equipment. With many clinical devices such as Thermometers, Pulse Oximeters, Blood Pressure Monitors and more being used to prescribe from daily, making sure that they are fully tested and calibrated is legally and medically required for compliance and professional competence.

How often should you calibrate your medical equipment?

At GP Surgeries, Healthcentres and other establishments governed by CQC it is an industry expectation that medical equipment is calibrated at annual intervals. Some medical equipment may require calibration prior to use but this is subject to individual manufacturers instructions. All equipment should be of medical grade and if broken, dropped or a practitioner is unsure of the accuracy of any device this should be decommissioned until recalibrated to ensure accuracy.
